Project Case Study | Indoor Immersive Theme Park: “Azure Starry Sea” Children’s Development Center
In modern commercial complexes, high-quality indoor family-friendly spaces are the key drivers for attracting foot traffic and extending the dwell time of family visitors. With “Azure Ocean” and “Sparkling Starry Sky” as its primary visual themes, this project transforms what was once a spacious but empty indoor commercial space into a comprehensive children’s development center that integrates physical activity, sensory exploration, and role-playing. Through highly customized, non-standard designs, Rope Cube perfectly balances the “childlike aesthetic” of the play space with “commercial operational efficiency per square foot.”
In the heart of the project stands a uniquely shaped rope-net tree, hand-woven by the Rope Cube artisan team.
Ultimate Texture and Color: Crafted from high-strength, eco-friendly, and skin-friendly custom-colored ropes, it is hand-crocheted in a gradient ranging from deep blue to light blue and pure white, visually resembling a vibrant piece of ocean coral.
A Multi-Dimensional Exploration Space: The interior features an intricate network of climbing paths, connected at the base to a foam ball pit, with woven swings and suspended hanging balls extending outward, providing an excellent space for young children to develop tactile perception and sensory integration skills.
Taking into account the characteristics of the indoor ceiling height, we have created a space-efficient, multi-level padded maze system.
Seamless Flow: By combining a custom dual-track transparent spiral slide with a wave-shaped racing slide, we’ve created a seamless transition from mid-air adventures to the massive ball pit below.
Absolute Safety Protection: The perimeter of the structure features dual protection—high-strength flexible safety netting and thickened impact-resistant padding—ensuring children’s absolute safety during high-speed slides and free-roaming play, while reducing operational costs associated with daily safety patrols.
